Magic Tournaments!

Unless otherwise indicated, prizes will be booster packs based on the number of participants.

May 2, Friday, 7pm is FNM Booster Draft Sanctioned.  Entry is $15.

May 3, Saturday, 7pm is Shadowmoor Launch Party.  The format is Sealed Deck.  There will be exclusive prizes.  Entry is $25.

May 7, Wednesday, 6pm is Booster Draft. Entry is $15.

May 9, Friday, 7pm is FNM Sealed Deck Sanctioned.  Entry is $25.

May 10, Saturday, 7pm is Standard.  Shadowmoor is allowed.  Entry is $5.

May 14, Wednesday, 6pm is Booster Draft.  Entry is $15.

May 16, Friday, 7pm is FNM Booster Draft Sanctioned.   Entry is $15.

May 17, Saturday, 7pm is Two-Headed Giant Booster/Trash Draft.  This is NOT WOTC rules.  Entry is $5 per person.

May 21, Wednesday, 6pm is Standard.  Entry is $5.

May 23, Friday, 7pm is FNM Standard Sanctioned.  Entry is $5.

May 24, Saturday, 7pm is Lorwyn/Shadowmoor Bloc Constructed.  This will be the format for the Pro Tour-Berlin Qualifiers beginning June 7.  Entry is $5.

May 28, Wednesday, 6pm is Standard.  Test your deck for Regionals!  Entry is $5.

May 30, Friday, 7pm is FNM Booster Draft Sanctioned.   Entry is $15.

May 31, Saturday, 7pm is Two-Headed Giant Booster/Trash Draft.  This is NOT WOTC rules.  Entry is $5 per person.

June 4, Wednesday, 6pm is Standard.   Entry is $5.

Legend of the Five Rings

May is Mantis Month.  For each L5R purchase of $25 or more, you get a free special four-card Mantis clan pack while supplies last.  Also, for every $10 you spend on L5R products at Game HQ, you get one draw from the L5R Box of Greed.  Ask at the register for details.

May 9 & 23, Fridays, 7:30pm is Legend of the Five Rings Samurai Edition Constructed.  Entry is $3.

May 16, Friday 7:30pm is Words & Deeds Pre-Release.  The format is Sealed.  All participants get a Deeds & Words promo card.  Entry is $20.

May 3, 10, 17, 24 & 31 Saturdays, 1pm is Epic Constructed.  Entry is $2.

Vampire: The Eternal Struggle

May 17, Saturday, 11am is a Vampire: TES tournament.  This event will be a “mini-qualifier” tournament for nationals assuming at least 12 participants.  Eric Houghton presides.  Entry is $5.

Yu-Gi-Oh

May 4, Sunday, 11am to 3pm is Yu-Gi-Oh Light of Destruction Sneak Preview.  The format is Open Dueling.  Entry is $20.  For more information go to www.jdsevents.com.

Dungeons &Dragons Minis

This miniatures game offers great figures for your D&D RPG and is also a great skirmish battle game in its own right! 

May 28, Wednesday, 7pm is a D&D minis demo game.  Map and figures are provided.  Try out this fine minis game!  Entry is free.

Role Playing:

Thursdays, 7pm to approximately midnight, Michael Kirk is running an introductory Role-Playing group. May 1 & 29 is Dungeons & Dragons in Forgotten Realms Waterdeep.   May 8 & 22 is Swashbuckling Adventures.  Space is limited so check with Michael Kirk.

D&D 4^th Edition Pre-Order Special!

The Player’s Handbook, Dungeon Master’s Guide, and Monster Manual for Dungeons & Dragons 4^th Edition all release together on June 6.  They will retail at $34.95 each.  This is a major rules revision and will not be compatible with the current system.  Everyone will want a new set of core books.  We are currently taking pre-orders for 4^th edition books.  If you pre-order and pay before June 1, you get all three core books for the special price of $89.

June 7, Saturday, 11am is Worldwide D&D Game Day.  Michael Kirk, Jeff Hertel, and Greg Vaughan will be your volunteer Dungeon Masters.  Come try out the new rules!  Entry is free but please sign up in advance as space will be limited.

Thursdays, 7pm to about 11pm is Board Game Night.  Come learn a new board game.  Entry is free.

Thursdays, 7pm & Sundays, 1pm is Mah Jongg.  New players are welcome.  Jo Obenaur will show you how to play!  Entry is free.

Saturdays, 11am is De Bellis Multitudinous (DBM).  This is 15mm historical battles.  New players are welcome.  Entry is free.

May 17, Saturday, 9am is Advanced Squad Leader.  Mike Cadieux presides.

May 21, Wednesday, 7pm is Shogun.  This is the new version from Queen games by designer Dirk Henn.  Entry is free.

Flames of War

Most casual play is on Saturdays starting at 11am.

Axis & Allies Miniatures

Ron Palmatary has written rules and scenarios to fight an entire World War II campaign using Axis & Allies land and sea miniatures.  You fight a series of battles from Poland through the fall of Berlin.  Pacific land and sea battles are also included.  These rules are posted at  http://www.gameheadquarters.com/axalmi.html.

May 3, Noon, is Axis & Allies Minis Big Battle.  This will be a large scenario.  All models provided.  Entry is free – new players welcome.

the Call to Arms 2008 Season Two – The Bloodstone Borderlands continues this month.

May 17, Saturday, 11am to Noon registration, is Warmachine Steamroller! Entry is $5. 500 points, one faction, two lists. Number of rounds dependent on the number of players. Each round will last 75 minutes before last round is called, and we'll be using the Steamroller Scenario's from the last tournament- Mosh Pit, No Man's Land, Pendulum Mk. 2, and Throw Down.
